Hi,

We have just purchased your module and it looks good so far.

We have a background image and would like to add approximately 4000 small circles to it, the co-ordinates of which are stored elsewhere in our DNN database.

What is the best way of getting those small circles as hotspots using the co-ordinates from the other table? We would be happy to write directly to another table specific to your module if required.

Thanks,

Jim.

Hi,

Unfortunately, the storage capabilities of that module are not sql friendly, since the maps are serialized into XML and stored in parts in the DNN module settings.

If coding is not an option, as the module is portable (export/import capable), I would recommand to produce an XML export file from the DNN command, and somehow inject your data into the file before you can import it again. You may be able to produce the right hotspot format from a crafted sql query.

Now that should be easier with coding, using the available API to create hotspots programmatically. We could develop that feature into the module. Let us know if you are interested by a quote.

Hi,

If you were to give us a quote for the ability for us to provide an SQL entity such as a table or view in the module settings, that would pull through all of the information that I am assuming is stored in the XML that you refer to, with a schema defining field names, data types and limits that we would be required to have in our SQL entity that would be great.

If you have a better alternative method then please provide an explanation of exactly what we would need provide in terms of SQL entity in order to make it work. The solution must be entirely automated as the SQL data will be constantly changing.

Thanks,

Jim.

Hi Jim,

I am sales in Aricie and have talked with Jesse about your need. Thanks for your interest in HtmlMapMaker. I'll send you my quote via email if that is ok with you.

Talk to you soon.

Hi Jim, did you get my quote? We'd be interested in doing the job, let me know if such conditions are satisfactory for you or if there's anything else we can provide.

Regards
